From 1st Dec 2024 Pharmacies will not be allowed to order prescriptions on your behalf.

This primarily is due to concerns regarding over-ordering prescriptions and the patient safety issues that arise from this.
You can order prescriptions in the following manner:
  • Download the NHS App (links on home page)
  • Use the tear-off slip on hard copies of your prescription.
  • Request the prescription via telephone on 0161 761 6677.
  • Face-to-face, just pop into the surgery.
Your nominated pharmacy may have already contacted you about these changes to prescription ordering changes.
We are making these changes in collaboration with local pharmacies and Bury ICB's Medicines Optimisation Teams.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE REGISTER FOR ONLINE SERVICES USING THE NHS APP.

IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO ORDER REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS, SEE TEST RESULTS AND VERIFY COVID VACCINATION STATUS (I.E., FOR TRAVEL PURPOSES, ENTRANCE TO VENUES, ETC). Please follow this link: https://help.login.nhs.uk/setupnhslogin/

Notice: Possible delays with prescriptions: more prescriptions are being sent to local pharmacies from the surgery electronically. Therefore pharmacies are experiencing delays in processing prescription requests. Please be patient with the surgery and local pharmacies during this national emergency.

Repeat Prescriptions

You can order your repeat prescriptions using the NHS app.

Alternatively you can telephone the surgery after 09:30 to order your repeat prescriptions. Please have the names and strengths of medication you require to hand when calling.

Another way of ordering your repeat prescription is in person at the surgery. Please use our repeat prescription box or speak to a receptionist for support. Prescriptions will be ready in 48 working hours. Prescriptions ordered on:

  • Monday will be ready for Wednesday at 4pm
  • Tuesday will be ready for Thursday at 4pm
  • Wednesday will be ready for Friday at 4pm
  • Thursday will be ready for Monday at 4pm
  • Friday will be ready for Tuesday at 4pm

Once you have made your request and depending on where you wish to collect your prescription, the whole process takes 2 working days, excluding weekends and bank holidays.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
